UNC Asheville’s Kenny George, a 7-foot-9 basketball player could miss the rest of the season with a foot injury.
Kenny George is the nation’s tallest college basketball player and he recently had two surgical procedures on his infected right foot. He is currently in a Chicago hospital resting, and according to the school, the senior basketball player is not expected to return to school this semester.
His coach, Eddie Biedenbach, said George first felt discomfort last month during camp when they were in Las Vegas. After he returned home to get it checked out, a doctor recommended going through with surgery immediately.
George is one of the top defensive big men in college basketball today. He was the Big South’s defensive player of the year. He managed to put up pretty decent numbers for the Bulldogs by averaging 12.4 points per game, 7.0 rebounds and 3.3 blocks.
