Every year after the SuperBowl, the winning team usually has their SuperBowl Parade 2009 and since the Pittsburgh Steelers just won SuperBowl 43, then all you Steelers fan are probably wondering where the parade is going to take place, when is it going to happen, etc. Keep reading and I’ll just add my knowledge on it.
The SuperBowl parade 2009 was just announced by the Major of Pittsburgh that it will take place today on Tuesday February 3rd and it will start at noon.
If you have seen the St. Patrick’s Day parade before, apparently they will be using the same exact route as that. So, the parade will begin at Mellon Arena and continue through downtown and finally end at Gateway Center.
And just like any other big parade, all these streets and areas will be blocked off for the hours before and during it.
And if you’ve been sheltered from the world in the last couple of days, the Steelers defeated the Cardinals in SuperBowl 43 in the final minute 27-23. The franchise is the only one to win six SuperBowls.
The last time they won, about 250,000 fans showed up for the parade. OF course, that is nothing to the Patriots crowd since I attended one of those before. The Patriots had an estimated 1 million+ fans show up for support.
