I know I’m late with my 2008 NFL Playoff Predictions but it’s better late than never, I’d say. I did pretty good with my picks and predictions in the regular season so I’m hoping to continue my success in the playoffs.
2008 NFL Playoff Predictions:
Philly Eagles at NY Giants: Although the Giants have home field advantage, that hasn’t helped too many NFC first round bye teams in the recent years. Plus, they had so many distractions, injuries and so on.
And the Eagles have been on tear of late and took their momentum right into the playoffs. I will say the Eagles win 24-17 with Westbrook having another good game.
Arizona Cardinals at Carolina Panthers: Cardinals surprised a lot of people win their win over the Falcons last week but I don’t think they’ll be surprising too many people this week against the Panthers. Both defenses aren’t great so you’ll see an offense game here.
I will say the Panthers win 34-24 with Steve Smith having over 100 yards receiving and DeAngelo Williams getting at least two rushing touchdowns. And Kurt Warner turns the ball over two or more times to make it the deciding factor.
Baltimore Ravens at Tennessee Titans: This is a tough choice but I’m going to have to go with the Ravens on this one. They have the momentum, they have bigger playmakers on defense, and they have the better quarterback, even if he’s a rookie.
I will say the Ravens shut down the Titans run game, Kerry Collins steps up but just simply isn’t enough. And believe it or not, Flacco steps up as a big game quarterback as a rookie. Conclusion, Ravens win 27-21.
San Diego Chargers at Pittsburgh Steelers: This is a tough game to decide, especially the fact that the Chargers are still somewhat plagued with injuries and distractions (Vincent Jackson being arrested). Also, it may be bad with the weather so you have to factor that into the scenario.
But honestly, I like the Chargers IF LT plays and is healthy. Even if he isn’t, I like Sporales as his backup. Are they going to be enough for the Steelers? Well, I feel the Chargers are equivalent to the Eagles, they won the games needed to get into the playoffs, got the momentum on their side past the Wild Card week and it’ll be hard to stop them.
So, I’m going out on a limp and say the Chargers win 17-14 because the Steelers offense either stalls or they simply commit more errors for themselves.
Those are my 2008 NFL Playoff Predictions and picks… good luck to all the teams!
