It looks like there’s a website, Missingmoney.com, in which allows users to search through the database to see if any of your money is being held by the state. Well, you better make sure your money is not being held by the government without your knowledge!

Basically how it works is you get to search through the states’ unclaimed property departments to see if your name appears in there. If it does, then more than likely the state is holding some money for you.

Though, I read someone that you have to be aware because this site does charge a membership fee for it while other similar sites do not.

You can also check out NAUPA at unclaimed.org to check your sources and it’s free.

Anyways, wouldn’t it be nice if you searched and found out that the state was just holding onto thousands of dollars that belong to you?
