I don’t know exactly what the president said but today many people try to search this statement “We seek no conquest”, is it “We seek no conquest all We ask is to be let alone” or “we seek no conquest all we ask is to be left alone” ? But, after I try to find some books from Google book, from The Civil War Day by Day: An Almanac, which is contain more than 1000 pages, its said the first one, “”We seek no conquest all We ask is to be let alone”. What do you think about this statement? I dont have any idea why people try to search one century years old statement. Because the book is published in 1861-1865 by Barbara Long.
Update:
This “We Seek No Conquest” statement is by Jefferson Davis, according to Wikipedia about Jefferson Davis
Jefferson Finis Davis (June 3, 1808 – December 6, 1889) was an American politician who served as President of the Confederate States of America for its entire history, 1861 to 1865, during the American Civil War.
