A lot of people are asking when is the Starcraft 2 Release Date? I hope this post could help you guys out and give some information on the Starcraft 2 Release date.

There has been no official word from Blizzard as to when the official release date of Starcraft 2 would be but there are a lot of websites saying that it will be on December 3, 2008 – 12/03/08. This made a lot of people happy. Everyone is very excited to play Starcraft 2, after years and years of waiting but all the excitement went down the drain after the Blizzard’s World Wide Invitation in Paris. Rob Pardo, Blizzard’s Game Design EVP said that they we’re only about 1/3rd through polishing the game cinematics and campaign. One would think of this as word from Blizzard that Starcraft 2 will not be finished by Christmas season.

A guy named dmatthews had this to say on another site that said the Starcraft 2 release date would not be December 3, 2008 as mentioned above.

I think it might be a little hasty to make this claim. The source from where this post comes from is taking a quote out of context from a joystiq.com article. In it, Rob only says that the single player campaign is 1/3 done, not the whole game, and notes that most of what is left is tweaking. Also, Bestbuy AND Circuit City have now added Dec 3 as the release date, which, if they did not have reliable information, would be quite a poor business decision on their part. I’m not saying Dec 3 is the date, but no reason to get all gloomy just yet. Another conference day awaits.
