Roberto Alomar, the former All-Star second baseman, is slammed with a lawsuit by his ex-girlfriend, Ilya Dall. The latter has taken explosive allegations to court that Roberto Alomar had insisted on having unprotected sex with her in spite of knowing well that he had AIDS. This continued for four years.

Roberto Alomar started dating Ilya Dall in 2002 and, as the latter claims, had unprotected sex with her frequently till 2006. The ex-girlfriend says now that she could see the signs of HIV positive on Roberto Alomar and kept pressing him for a blood-test though he kept refusing till the very end. However, he finally relented and was found positive in the test. Ilya claims that she was tested negative in that test.

Roberto Alomar, as expected, has tried to shun the media glare and has expressed his regrets over the charges that he feels are laced with crafty lies. Indeed, if the former sports icon loses the case, he would have to pay $15 million as punitive charges to Ilya Dall, making it a savory deal for the latter. The case against Roberto Alomar started on January 30, 2009 and is now transferred to US District Court in New York.
