Richard Cooey execution took place this morning when he was lethally injected. Cooey’s execution took place at exactly 10:28 AM and it’s making headlines due to the fact that a lot of death penalties don’t take place often.

Richard Cooey was an Ohio death row inmate that was trying to overturn the Supreme Court’s decision with the plea that he was simply too overweight to be put to death. Obviously, his plea was rejected and he was legally injected.

As I was reading, it looks like this death penalty process ran on for quite sometime, especially since he was appealing the decision of a death penalty.

Cooey, 41, was sentenced to jail since he was 17. He was convicted of the brutal murder of Wendy Offredo and Dawn McCreery, who were students at the University of Akron.

That took place over 20 years ago and now justice has been served.

I would go into details about the murders he and another male did but I’m pretty sure you probably won’t want to hear it.
