Pikeville College has bagged two new soccer stars for their team. Two Rowan County Senior High School students have signed a deal with Pikeville College for playing in the college’s soccer team. Kayla Blevins and Eric Bowling will play for the girls’ and boys’ teams respectively.
Blevins and Bowling the head coach, Ken DeCook, in the RCSHS library and signed the letter of intent to Pikeville College soccer teams in front of their family members, coaches and friends. However, DeCook of Pikeville College has affirmed that the students would have to maintain good academic records to be in his teams.
Blevins and Bowling preferred Pikeville College to other institutions because of its successful track records in all aspects, be it sports or academics. Blevins has been playing soccer since the eighth grade. Bowling has been playing for 13 years. The members of the soccer teams of Pikeville College are optimistic that their rich experiences in soccer will definitely be a help to the college teams. Neither Blevins nor Bowling could apprehend that there would be such enthusiastic support for them from the students of Pikeville College. Both Ray Ginter, the girls’ soccer coach, and Alan Evans, the boys’ coach, are happy about the new members. Blevins and Bowling will attend Pikeville College from the fall.
