Oprah | Oprah Winfrey Makes Deal with HBO
Oprah was named as the most powerful woman in entertainment by trade paper The Hollywood Reporter. Well I think they are right about this. Oprah was succeed in bringing her audience to choose Obama during the election and not many people can do such a great thing in the excellent way like Oprah.
Now Oprah is showing her power again as the powerful woman in entertainment. According to the Reuters, Oprah Winfrey’s production company has signed a deal to make movies, documentaries and series for cable channel HBO, Harpo Films and HBO.
The move to HBO ends a long relationship with ABC for Winfrey’s production company output of uplifting movies including Emmy-award winning “Tuesdays with Morrie” and “Their Eyes Were Watching God,” starring Halle Berry.
Kate Forte, president of Harpo Films, said HBO offered a unique blend of format and creativity on television, “and the quality and range of their subjects are extraordinary.”
