Madden, who is a member of the rock band Good Charlotte, announced the news on his blog site: “I am so happy to tell everyone that Harlow is going to be a big sister. God has truly blessed my family. Hope you’re all feeling as good as I am right now. Actress Nicole Richie, daughter of singer Lionel Richie, just had her first baby 13 months ago. I guess they enjoyed her so much that they got started on the second right away.

Richie celebrated her second pregnancy at a post-Oscar party. Harlow, their daughter, was born about a year ago in January 2008. Madden’s blog post about the good news was titled “Better than winning an Oscar!” It’s evident that the two are elated about their growing family. 27-year old Nicole Richie, who has led a rather wild childhood and young adulthood, credits her daughter’s birth for causing her to live a more tranquil life. Richie has been known for getting into trouble the last few years, especially with ex-best friend Paris Hilton, but it’s nice to see her settling down and building her house into a home. This time next year Harlow Winter Kate Madden will be a big sister!
