NBC's Lipstick Jungle may be Cancelled soon
Lipstick Jungle is based on a book by “Sex and the City” by author Candace Bushnell. According to Nielsen the NBC series averaged only 5.2 million viewers per episode this season. It was moved recently from Wednesdays at 10 p.m. to Friday night. This resulted in a 50% increase in viewership, according to the New York Times.
The Associate Press reported last week that two network execs confirmed that both “Lipstick Jungle” and Christian Slater’s “My Own Worst Enemy” would be taken off, but according to Shields, the two shows do not currently share the same fate.
It appears fans are playing quite a role in keeping the series alive. Apparently fans have been sending the NBC President and CEO, Jeff Zucker, tubes of lipstick.
