Hurricane Ike Damage continued early Saturday through Texas coasts with winds more than 100 mph and as much as 13 feet of water ashore.
Hurricane Ike ran through the nation’s fourth largest city, Houston, damaging many houses and structures along the coastlines. (You can see a couple pictures below).
Officials in Galveston, which was hit head-on by Hurricane Ike, received many emergency calls through the night from residents. Unfortunately, it was too dangerous to send out rescuers at the time.
In addition, Galveston officials urged residents to evacuate the area but many still stayed behind. It is unknown at this time of the fate of the Galveston residents who stayed behind.
