A 200-pound chimpanzee was shot after attacking his owner’s best friend this week in Connecticut. While this behavior has shocked many animal experts, we’ve just found out that the same animal bit a woman back in 1996. His owner, Sandra Herold, just said this in an interview earlier Thursday. The woman he bit over ten years ago was Leslie Mostel-Paul. She apparently complained to both the owner and police. The chip bit her hand and tried pulling her into a vehicle as she greeted him.

He's killing my friend! Harold cries in 9-1-1- call
Chimp owner Herold referred to Travis as ”a loving pet”. She says his behavior this past Monday was “completely out of character”. Travis had been raised by Herold since infancy. He combed her hair each night and slept in her bed.
On Monday Travis was shot to death after wounding 55-year old Charla Nash, who remains in the hospital with critical injuries to her hands and face.
Now the owner is also saying she thinks Travis was being protective of her when attacking Nash. She reports that Nash was wearing a new hairstyle, driving a different car and presenting a stuffed Elmo as a gift to the chimp.
It’s very odd that a chimp who drinks from wine glasses and is a veteran of Television commercials would behave this way. Authorities haven’t said whether or not Travis’ owner will face criminal charges yet.
In the 9-1-1 call on Monday Herold’s voice is screaming for help: “He’s killing my friend!” and goes on to tell them to shoot him.
