Want to know the meaning of GU 63 Football? GU is referring to Gene Upshaw, The Executive Director of NFL Players Association. GU NFL – Gene Upshaw NFL Chief Executive would be with us today on the Labor Stand Off between the NFL Players Assosiation and The Owners of The League.

Unfortunately that was just a plan. Gene Upshaw passed away few weeks ago. That changed everything. The NFLPA executive director has worked really hard on NFL. He has dedicated his life on NFL and football. So in the purpose of honoring Gene Upshaw, All of the players of The Red Skins and The Giants will all wear uniforms that have been patched with GU 63 initial.

The 63 it self is referring to Gene Upshaw Jersey Number, Gene was a Hall of Famer there (thanks to Mark for the correction). So GU 63 is to honoring Gene Upshaw the NFLPA Executive Director merit and dedication to the Football in general. This will be GU Football. GU63 Football, to dedicate Gene Upshaw, one of the Football heroes of America.
