Gas prices rise once again on Saturday by an average of five cents a gallon across United States due to the disruptions along Texas coast because of Hurricane Ike.
After a steady downfall in gas prices within the past month, the affects of Hurricane Ike may have the prices steadily go right back up.
According to AAA, the national average retail price per gallon rose to $3.73 on Saturday morning from just being $3.63 the day before. The price is still below the average price from a month ago ($3.78) and well above the cost of last year ($2.80) but after we saw a steady decline in prices, of course, Hurricane Ike had to come along.
Of course, Hurricane Ike affects will be more than just gas prices. The national impact is just the beginning. According to one gas station in Ann Arbor, Mich., drivers paid $3.89 a gallon on Friday night and the very next morning, at the same gas station, drivers were charged $4.25 a gallon.
The gas price rose 36 cents overnight! This gas station was located hundreds of miles from the hurricane.
Damn these gas prices rising! And damn Hurricane Ike for destroying homes and causing a mess for all of us!
