It looks like just recently, the biggest snake in the world was just found. Well, at least the fossils of the biggest snake were found in Columbia.
Well, the biggest snake is said to be “titanoboa” which means titanic boa. The fossils were found and it is said that the biggest snake was between 42 and 45 feet long. Which is just about the same size as a bus. And if you think that’s shocking, the snake is believed to weigh in at 2,500 lbs.
The more I read about it the more I was reading how this huge snake could eat animals bigger than cows and when scientists found the fossils, it also found the remains of what they ate. And their appetite apparently included alligators.
Holy crap, alligators?!
But the biggest snake, well, the fossils at least, is located in the Museum of Natural History in Gainesville, Florida. I’d be interested in checking it out but unfortunately I won’t be going to Florida anytime soon.
See, it’s just not the same if you are told the measurements and what they compare it to until you are standing next to it to get that full affect.
Anyways, the snake is said to be about 58 million years old so who knows if there are any of them left! Well, at least that big!
