Good news from TinyURL. They just released a new cool feature on their URL-shortening service which their competitor have already had for ages actually: It’s Vanity URL.
With this new feature the nonsensical shortened URLs it spits out from your 1,000 character-plus links can now be changed to whatever name you want after the forward slash–that is as long as it hasn’t been taken by someone else.
Here are some example of cool shortened URLs which unfortunately have been taken already
Shortcut to WhiteHouse.Gov
Shortcut to your name
Shortcut to hide your affiliate links
Shortcut to anything
TinyURL can be useful to hide your affiliate links in case you want to make money online. Unfortunately as you can see on the examples above, many good shortcuts for affiliate links has been taken already. All the examples above except the first “dick” one are all owned by one person. Guess who
