I was going to name this article: Less Adsense Slots = More Money To Earn. But the current title is more acceptable I think.

There are 3 most important parts on the Adsense Stats to help us optimize our Adsense earning. Check this screen shot

Those are Channel Name, CTR, and CPM stats.

Channel Name
You will not see this if you don’t set your adsense code on channels. Channel Name will help you analize which Adsense Slot that has the best performance. Which Channel gives your the most earning? Which Slot is the most valuable.

If you don’t set any channel for your Adsense, go set it now. Update your Adsense!

CTR Stat
This is your CTR %age. This shows us how good is the Slot Performance. This reflect the percentage of how many readers clicked our Ads. It’s Click / Page Impressions X 100.

CPM Stat
This is your Earning devided by Your (Page Impresssions / 1000). If you earn $100 from 100,000 impression. then It means ($100 / (100,000 / 1000)) = $100 / 100 = 1.

That is your CPM -> 1

Now How To Optimize It?
Now as you can see, I have only 1 Channel only on Jackbook.com. It is because I have removed My other Adsense slots. I remove the Sidebar Slot and the Under Post Slot. Why?

Here is the Explanation

1. My Sidebar has a really Low CTR.
My Sidebar Slot has around 0.1% – 0.5 CTR. That is too low. Perhaps it is because I have many pictures / banner on the sidebar. Low CTR will automatically decrease my CPM too. read the second reason

2. My Under Post has a really Low CPM.
My Under Post Slot has around $0.1 – $0.5 CPM. That is too low either. Just imagine this, Each time Adsense Ads appears on our site, that will cost Google Adsense Bandwith and other Server Resource.

That means each time Adsense Ads appearing on our site, That will rise Cost for Google. And if there is no click, that will means a WASTE Cost for Google. That’s why if I see there is an Adsense Channel which has CTR under 1% or CPM under $1, I would be better to remove it.

3. Smart Pricing.
Now again lets do play some nasty Imagination

Imagine this. We have 3 Adsense Slots on our site.

slot #1: 336 x 280 pixels –> Above the post
slot #2: 160×600 pixels –> Sidebar
slot #3: 336×280 pixels –> Under Post

If 336x280pixels can bring us 4 Ads, and 160×600 and bring 4 ads either, that means Google will have to choose 12 highest price Ads to show on our site.

Now let’s imagine those 12 Ads.

Ads #1 –> the price is $1 / click
Ads #2 –> the price is $0.75 / click
Ads #3 –> the price is $0.5 / click
..
..
and so on
..
..
Ads #12 –> the price is only $0.1 / click

Google sort all the ads by the price.

Now think, If we have 3 Slots of Adsense on our site, that means Our Readers will have more choices of Ads to click. But unfortunately it is a worthless click if they click on the ads that have a low price.

That’s why I remove all of my other Adsense slots, and left the Above Post only. It is because I want to show only 4 the highest price Ads only.

Hope you got it guys. By limiting my Adsense Slots, that means I will have higher Pay per Click rather than have many waste adsense slots.

Less Adsense Slots = More Money To Earn

ps: Actually this tip is working not only for Adsense, but for any other Pay per click money maker programs like chitika etc.
