Oh I wish I was the owner of date.com. As a dating site, date.com should be the first, the most popular dating site on internet or even on any Search Engine rite? Just look at how many popular dating site on the internet has such a really perfect domain name like date.com?

I think they should learn from their competitor if they want to be the king of dating sites. Let’s get some other online dating sites as a comparison so we can learn about how good we can optimize date.com, make it better then what it is currently.

Plentyoffish.com, another dating site owned by Marcus Frind, and run by a single person -Marcus girlfriend- from his house earn about $10,000 per day. So it would be great if we learn something from Plentyoffish.

The another one is Justsayhi.com, this site ranks #1 on Google, so there should be something we can learn from Justsayhi.

And the last is match.com, this site earn about $300 million a year. should i say more?

For a dating site, I think all have the same services that is to find a person for a relationship. One of what makes them different of course is their front page. How important is a front page for a dating site?

First Impression!

If I am coming to a dating site for the first time, then the most important I need to know is how big is this dating site? How popular is it? Does it has a lot of members so I will have a lot of choices? Has it proven as a good dating site? Can I see their members list without join first? The perfect dating site should have answers for all that questions.

At the first time I came to Date.com, I have to say that it’s like.. nothing! In fact, I thought it was just a landing page of a parked domain there. With too simple layout, even too little color and small fonts, the layout is so ‘invisible’ to me :).

So, what would I do if I was the owner of date.com?

Learn from plentyoffish. What makes me impressed about them is that they have a really good placement of their site description, and not just a perfect placement, it is also a really good description actually.

Learn from JustSayHi, I think this site has the best cover that really sells. They have a nice colorful banner, and the most important is, they have a newest member list with their online status. that is the most important.

Look at the screenshot below, wouldn’t you join them if you are seeing a hot girl is online? and she is even a newest member? everybody love new fresh fish do they?

and the last is match.com, this site which mentioned before has the biggest earning, they also have a good color and the best thing of it is I think their testimonial.
