Set the Date Format

By Jacky Supit • Sep 22nd, 2007 • Category: blogging tips - blogging tricks

Some of you who use my template must notice that on some templates, I set the Date Format difference to the Blogger default date format.

For some template which have a special format, because I have just moved this site from blogger to wordpress to give you more better services, Some of my posts have changed.

So if you can’t read my Changing Date Format Instruction, here it is.

1. Go to your Dashboard - Settings - Formatting.

there you’ll see Timestamp format.

2. Choose this style: Friday, September 21, 2007

3. Save your setting. and refresh your blog and done!

Later, I will write the tutorial about how to customize the blogger template format by your self. So you can create your own format you want.

UPDATE:  Many people have read this instructions but still meet error, after i checked their site, many of them have mis-set the timestamp. so please see the image below to make sure that you set the right date.

date format on blogger

Note:

Looks my googlepages account has exceed it’s bandwith limit, that makes the javascript inaccessible. and of course makes your dateformat won’t show up. to fix this, please host the javascript files on your own file host. please go here to read deeper more about it.

I have it working, but to low. I can’t seem to get it to go into the search graphic at the top. Think it may be something to do with the way it has imported possible id=HTML1 not there or out of place?

Hi Jack,

Could you do me a big favor? I’d like to have the
post date customized like you did in the “salmon template” or in “dark blogger template” on my blog. But i don’t know how to put it without the all templates. I just want the “date thing” (excuse my french)

Here’s my blog : http://pacobello-romain.blogspot.com/

thanks so much!

you really should specify that people need to change the TIMESTAMP format … and NOT the DATE HEADER FORMAT. possibly that’s the mistake everyone’s making.its an easy mistake to make.

great template.

i already tried “Friday, October 03, 2007″ and “Friday, September 3, 2007″ to no avail .. what’s wrong?

hi Issa
that is because you set the wrong date.
instead setting the post time stamp, you set the post date header.
please see the screenshot above on the post.
thanks

I just used your nice template here at http://ecommerze.blogspot.com. Fantastics effect and design. I just love it.

I have no problem with the timestamp but there is a problem on how to integrate Haloscan comment code into the template as my previous comments are using Haloscan and I would prefer to retain it. I tried to add the code using the Haloscan’s instruction but it just not working. Do you think there is any other method to solve this problem?

Many thanks in advance.

if i wasn’t wrong, haloscan has a feature to automatically add their comment code into your template
have you tried it?

First i must thank you for the gr8 template.
Now the problems -
1)The template loads sometimes and sometimes it doesn’t(Looks really bad).
2)The date thing is not there even though i tried what you told.
3)I want the blogger menu (Which usually comes below the tabs)back.
4)I would like the blogger logo back rather than the current one.

Thanks

And every picture I host it by myself.
