Wow Blogger Template

OK guys, As promised, here is your OMG blogger template. You can view the demo site here, or view the screenshot below.
This template was originally a wordpress themes by designdisease, thanks to some readers who let me know that there is someone out there who has already converted this template.
Yea, too bad for me didn’t know that it has already available out there, but then, after I checked to that already exists blogger template, I found some many things missing on the design and features.
compare those three (the original, that template, and my template)
I have listed what missing below,
1. Comment Date
On the original version, it should has a date under the commentator name, but that template doesn’t! too bad.
2. Comment Header
On the original version, it should be something like this “2 comments to “The Post Title Here”, but that template doesn’t look like that. compare it with mine.
3. Comment Icon
Look at the top right of each comment, it should has an icon (which should be a gravatar of the commentators, but because blogger doesn’t allow us to access the commentators email, so we can change it with a general comment icon). On the “that template”, it doesn’t have that icon. again, too bad.
4. Flickr on the middle column.
I know not everybody use Flickr, but it doesn’t mean there is nobody use it right? So it’s better to stay there, so people who are not Flickr users can just easily remove it. Yea, I have that one too.
5. Post Date
This is one of the most fatal missing!!
This post date should appears on each post right? but unfortunately not on “that template”. On that template, the post date will appear only one time a day, So if you have 2 or more posts in a day, that means only the first post on that day will have that post date. The rest? Blank!
6. Post Footer
Yea, on the footer of each post, there should be something like that. of course it’s not so important. OK, let’s just skip this one.
7. Recent Comments and Recent Posts on the middle column.
Now, This is the biggest mistake missing!!
Look on the middle column of the original version, on that template, and on mine! see the different? There is a really attractive recent comments and recent articles list.
That lists are so beautiful and attractive! I really love that list. They Rock! Unfortunately that template doesn’t have it.
Ok, Actually there are more missing I want to put on the list, but I really need only this points #5 and #7 to publish my own version. so guys, without hesitant, here is my own version!

Importance Notes before you can use this template.
1. This template needs 4 HTML/JAVASCRIPT Widget.
Yea, I make it all Widgetized! Not like the other one. So if you don’t have enough widget yet, then go create it first.
- HTML1 widget is on the Top Horizontal Menu.
- HTML2 widget is the About This Blog, which you can see it on the middle column.
- HTML3 widget is the Flickr, also on the middle column.
- HTML4 widget is the Adsense code, as you see it also on the middle column.

2. You have to upload all the images to your own Googlepages first. You can read it inside the XML codes. I have written a comment there.

Update #4 (Important! Error on Search Form)
I just knew that I have mis the search form field name, it is now name=”s” on the search form. It should be name=”q”.
To fix this, you can just easily re-download this template, or follow this very simple steps.
1. Go open you template editor on your blogger dashboard.
2. Find this code below
<input class=”keyword” name=”s” type=”text” />
Replace with this code below
<input class=”keyword” name=”q” type=”text” />
*Notice the different? it was name=’s’, now it is name=’q’
If you copy and paste the code above, and it doesn’t work, then you probably have to type it manually.
3. Save your template and done.
Update #3
To have a post date like that, you have to set your post timestamp on this format example: “Wednesday, May 12, 2005″

Here is the widgets content.

the rest is just regular content. you can fill anything there.
Update #1:
On the screenshot, you can see a red background there. To get that red background, just do these simple steps below.
1. Find this lines,
body { background: #EC4D00 url(http://YOUR-OWN-GOOGLEPAGE-ADDRESS.googlepages.com/background1.gif) no-repeat center top;}
body { background: #f3f2e8 url(http://YOUR-OWN-GOOGLEPAGE-ADDRESS.googlepages.com/background2.gif) no-repeat center top;}
2. Remove the first line, or toggle it. save your template, and done.
Always backup your current template first before installing this template!

1) The post text starts immediatley after the vertical line i need some gap between the horizontal line after the sidebar widget and the post.. im not able to identify whats the variable for it.
2)The height of the menu bar should be decreased.

hey …i have managed to sort it out …..it was actually very easy (just never used it )
Now the next prob that i have ….the background doesnt turns to what it should be …as explained in Update#1 (the toggle/delete thing).

Jack, that one that’s already converted is from blog and web, I’ve seen a lot of sites that convert to new blogger templates, If i had a list, you would be in 1st place jack, you are so smart because you include everything from the template, and more! When you convert a template you know how to do it.

hi Bud,
first you have to make sure that you are on the new blogger version.
if you still on a classic blogger version, then you have to upgrade to the new version first. (don’t worry, it’s free)
after you upgrade to the new version, you will be automatically able to see a widget control panel (page elements) under your blogger dashboard.

Your template could not be parsed as it is not well-formed. Please make sure all XML elements are closed properly.
XML error message: The document type declaration for root element type “html” must end with ‘>’.

I am a pretty new blogger but very carefull with my blog’s design as well, since I am a designer my self. The problem is I have no idea about codes and stuff like that. So I am looking for a nice look template for days now..LooL When I saw this one, the “OMG” template I whispered myself thats it for me!:) I love the design of this template!! The problem for me, is that unfortunatelly, I am not able to download this..:( when I click the “Download” sign on the bottom of the descrption, the only thing that happens is to move on the top of the description, so no download at all:(
I know that since I am new, I may do something wrong..So please help me with a reply letting me know why I cant download this wonderfull templates?

Hello Jack! I am very excited! Finally was my firewall that didnt allow me to download any of your templates, so now I have the one I like most for my blog, the “WoW” templates!:)
I have a question which may be actually stupid, but since I have no idea about codes and such, and I am just learning, how could I edit the xtml codec? I have downloaded the XTML-Notepad but when I open the “wow-blogger-template.xtml” I cant see the codec as I see that when opens with my browser, so that causes me the difficulty to edit that. I just thought maby you have used this software so maby you could give me a little guide how to see all the original written codec . LooL I know I am very pour but everyone starts from zero

Well, I compressed the zip folder and after had a look of the codec and the urls I had to replace into, I realised my “HOST-ALL-THIS-TO-YOUR-OWN-GOOGLEPAGES” folder doesnt include inside the files below:

..as a result I dont even have these files to host them at my googlepages LooL
But inside the codec, we have to replace the urls of these files. Any suggestions please please please??

this template is very nice indeed. The thing is that it contains too much image files. Is it possible that you create an imageless version with the same layout — e.g. wow blogger template simple version?

I get another error when I try to move the order of blogger widgets on the template and save it………..it became to happen after I did some widgets creations, deletes and moves through the blogger visual editor, not html………any idea or suggestion????

I have a problem that hopefully some one can help me out. I go to blogspot and I try to edit the html and it tries to close the window and then gives me an error. What am I don’t wrong?

seems like you got a virus on your computer there.
try to scan your computer first. there are many kind of viruses will try to close a window each time the window has some specific words, and on this case, probably the word is “HTML” so each time you try to open the blogger template editor (HTML editor) the virus will try to close it.
please scan your pc first.

I wanted to know how to make the name of the author appear next to the date.
Very nice template. i installed it, linked to the images and most everything works right out of the box. One issue is the top navigation doesn’t seem formatted. A google ad appeared where the navigation was supposed to be. Any thoughts?
You have mixed up your widgets ID. That’s why.
That was a different issue but yeah, it was part of the problem. I figured out the formatting to get it looking right after leaving my comment.

another thing,when you see the comments the view is similar like the post, I think that could be an error in blockquote, could be?
ok, maybe you have no time, I fix the author and the chaos in post. Search this line:
.PostContent img and eliminate the atribute “float: left”.

hey Jack is there a way to kill the horizontal scroll bar(with a tiny scroll) it shows at a resolution of 1024*768 because most of the ppl use this resolution.
hi jack… i wanna ask… why the google adsense cannot display between the post. i already tick the display google adsense but when i save changers .. there is an error. i also get the error when trying to move the page element.

I’ve recently create some blog and installed this template. Everything is OK but the Author name doesn’t appear in posts, what could be happening?
