Woah.. finally i finished it. I didn’t expect that it would be really hard to make this theme. Readers, please welcome a Fresh Fauna Style.
First, I really apologize if i am late to submit new template. it’s been 3 days since the last submit, remember Web 2.0 Modern Blogger Template Dark?
It’s because I didn’t expect that making a style of Fauna Wordpress Theme is that hard. actually it’s not really hard, it’s just because Fauna is new form me. so i need to read about the structure carefully.
Oh and for you who have never ever heard about Fauna before, you can check it out here;
Fauna Community Support
Fauna Download, BugTracker, Documentation And more
The latest version, which i use to make this style, is
RC 2. You can downlaod it there on the link above.
This Fresh Fauna Style is now on version 1.0
I will add update with newer version still on this page, so you probably want to add our feed to your feed reader, so you won’t late to get any update.
You can download this Fauna Style Skin here
Downloaded a total of 1102 times
Here is the Demo Site, Click if you want to know how it looks
Here is the steps to install this theme.
1. Upload all the folder, and put it under folder “Styles” under the Fauna wordpress theme folder.
2. Go to your Dashboard, Presentation, Themes.
- Activate the Fauna Theme.
- After it’s activated, you should see Fauna Options sub menu under Presentation. go there
- Set All the options you need.
3. On the Custom Style options, you should choose the FaunaFreshStyle/Fresh-Fauna.css
3. Then click Update Options Button on the right and you’ve done.
Refresh your blog, and see how it looks now.
Some Notes:
On this Version 1.0
1. This skin is not supporting left sidebar yet. so you can only have the sidebar on the right.
2. This skin is not suporting Fluid Scalemode yet. it’s because it’s really hard to make it works both on firefox and ie. – man.. why still people using ie
-
Background options
you can change the background with the other fresh styles. I have included 4 other files inside the images folder, so you can choose the best background for you.
there are: bg-option-0.png, bg-option-1.png, bg-option-2.png, bg-option-3.png
the default background is bg.png
Thanks for using this style.
And thank you for
Why it took me so long to develope this skin?
After looking at the html structure, i found that it would be really hard to build since it has few bugs on it (May be because i use windows on my pc, i’m not sure) and also not really good structure. i think
Oh to not make you curious, here is the list of bugs that i found.
1. When i tested it on my localhost, with default set up of Apache. the header, comments-template and footer can’t be loaded because they meet “unexpexted $end on line…”
then i saw that there are some <? in the code. after i changed each it into <?php it works fine.
2. Still on the comment footer, it says that wordpress can’t found template-commentform.php
so i
- Open this file: comments-popup.php (under Fauna Folder)
- Go to line: 72 (or find this error line below)
- error line: <?php include (TEMPLATEPATH . ‘/template-commentform.php’); ?>
- Change with this line: <?php include (TEMPLATEPATH . ‘/templates/template-commentform.php’); ?>
and done.
So i think, if you want to use this Fauna wordpress theme, you need to do those 2 steps above.
I hope Joen Asmussen, the author of this template will add better features on the next version, I am pretty sure this Fauna Theme will be large, therefore, i spent my days lately just to learn about it and make this skin.
This is the list i hope Joen will add them,
1. Class name and Id on each elements. well at least Id would be fine. especially for the footer. there are two p elements. it will make me easier to divide them left and right if it has id.
2. Div or span or whatever after each wrapper / div. as an example, after div body, i wish there was a fiv with class clear or something, so i can make it easier to have a same height for the body and sidebar.
I play a trick with the background to make it looks it has the same height.
3. A function to read the authors and the link of each Fauna Style. it can be done like wordpress dashboard read each theme description. so we can put our link under the footer ![]()
4. Well.. how do you think? any other feature do you expect?
