How many times you spent it to online every day? how many percent you spend it to read other blog? and how many percent you spend it to maintain your own blog?
Many people complain for they have not enough time to maintain their own blog. They can’t write a new post, can’t do some tweak to their blog design etc. What about you?
How many time you spent it to read other blog? So many people don’t have time to maintain their own blog because they spend their time for other blogs too many. Many people don’t realize that they are too busy to read other blog and write a comment on those posts.
Why you spend so many time to read those other blog? If you really need to read their post to keep updated on the latest information and issue, you can read their post via their feed then. That is the reason why feed exists rite? So you can read them faster?
Read Less, Write More!
It is good to read a lot. There you will have a good knowledge of anything you are on. But you have to remember that we should have balance on all our life. If you are reading a lot, then you should do write a lot also. well, at least you can create or write a post a day. So if you don’t write enough for your blog, I think, it’s time for you to stop to read.
“But Jack, I really need to read their posts. It’s important because their posts really help me to keep updated on the latest issues”.
It doesn’t matter if you want keep reading all those blogs actually. It’s just that you should not spend your time for them more then you spend your time for your own blog.
If your time to online is about 2 hours per day, then you have to limit your time to read about a half hour a day, no more! Probably, the perfect formula is about 30%. that means, you shouldn’t spend your time more then 1/3 of your time to online everyday.
Now think, with 1/2 hour, you should be able to read about 15 posts there.
“Oh that is impossible Jack, In 1/2 hour I would only be able to read 2 posts only on John Chow dot Com”.
Really? How possible? Did you really spend it to read his posts or to leave your comments there?
I have to warn you about John Chow dot Com. That site is not a blog. That site is a forum with Wordpress. Once you leave your comment there, you will be addicted to leave it again and again.
You will always try to leave a flirting comment hopefully other or even John Chow him self will reply it. And you will never be able to help your self to not checking your comment if it has been replied over and over again.
If you really want to read his posts, then I suggest you to subscribe to his Free Full RSS Feed. There you can save your time to read.
In fact, I suggest you to read all of your favorite blogs via their Full RSS Feed not only JohnChowdotCom. Almost all popular blogs give their full rss feed free now.
“OK Jack, I now have already set to read all them via my Feed Reader. but still Jack, It’s about 100 new posts everyday. A half hour is definitely not enough”.
100? well you need to do some filtering then. Let’s say you receive about 4 or 5 post a day from JohnChow, then try to filter his posts with you think important for your niche only.
John often posts about make money online, restaurants and foods, cars, reviewme reviews etc. Choose what match with your niche. If you are on making money, then I guess you don’t need his post about cars or foods. Filter all posts you received on your Feed Reader. you don’t have to read all of them. By looking at the post title and the first paragraph you should already know need to read the rest paragraph or not.
Read More, Write Less, Be a successful blogger!
Now if you have read and understand all the point above, you probably don’t need to leave your comment here. and subscribe to our full rss feed
