It’s started some months ago when a friend of mine, a well known blogger which used to write 1 or 2 posts a day managed to increase his posting frequency on his blog to 4 – 5 posts a day.
The changing was easy to notice since suddenly I felt like i got attacked by spammers on my feed readers. And I guest, that time i wasn’t the only one who felt that. Some of his readers wrote that they dislike it. The comments then decreased. He used to get about at least 10 – 20 comments per post before. But after that “tragedy”, there were many “0 Comments” then on his blog.
It’s clear that have too many new articles in one day can hurt your blog interaction with the readers. You might get your feed readers count decreased, and also might lose your comments count.
But there is also a good thing as the side effect. By having more new articles, that means Google will have more pages to index. Means there is a bigger chance Google will send more visitors to our blog. And.. if you have good quality articles, there is a big chance that those visitors coming from search engine will subscribe to your feed and become loyal returning visitors.
I know you might think it as a dilemma, but now we can see that there are two ways to increase our readership
1. Posting Slower
2. Posting Faster
Now do you want to become faster or slower? There are differences between the two methods. On the next post I will give you some examples of successful blogs which use faster and slower method.
