What is in your mind when you read this post title? Many people stop writing on their blog because they don’t have anything to write. They run out their Idea, they don’t have any topic to write anymore.

Well actually they have some ideas drafted on their mind, it just that they think those ideas are not important. Many people keep saving their ideas deep on their draft list because they’re not sure if they should write it or not.

Are you one of those people? Are you keeping your Unimportant ideas inside your mind? Let me tell you this, Share them! Write them now all other will do it!

Don’t be afraid if those article is important of not, as long you enjoy with the topic, as long you think it would be useful even just for one people and even if that one people is your own self then Write them!

You don’t have to fill your blog with all important articles. Sometime you need to fill it with anything you think is not important. If you feel guilty, then please note that All you think is not important might be important to your readers.
I think it is important, but I don’t think it fit with my site’s niche.

Ok, If that is the case, then I should give this advice. Write it! Doesn’t matter it fit or not with your niche, you should write them. If necessary, you can create a new category for those articles. You can create a new topic that can fit all topics out of your already existed category.

Let’s take some case studies on popular blogs.

John Chow dot Com and the Miscellaneous Ramblings category.

John Chow seems to be one of the most popular few blogs about making money online. This guy got his fame because of his success on monetizing his blog. There on the site you can see his blog description is “Making money online with the Dot Com Mogul”.

It’s clear that John really take Making Money topic as his main niche on his site. But what do you think about these post? Foods and Restaurants, Cars, Ramblings?

It is OK to have posts out of our niche. just write it, your readers will love it. They won’t leave your site just because you write a post out of your niche.

If any readers say that they don’t like what you wrote, and leave your site because of it. Trust me they won’t! No one leave your site forever. There is always a time they will come back.

I once leaved cashquests.com and removed their feed from my Google Reader, but then there was a time I remembered about them. And then I went to check them, and hey they wrote an important topic again. Then I subscribed again to their feed until today. I believe they don’t get their readers less but even more. Now they have readers not just from the important topic market, but also from the unimportant topic market.

Have you got the point? Why are you setting a limit for your site? Just let your blog free. Let your mind talk about everything you like not just the important once. Fit or not with your blog niche, there is always category for every post.

Don’t write what you think your readers want you to write, but write whatever you want to write. Why creating boundaries to your own growth. Let your blog grows everywhere.

Enjoy your writing. If you only write about what you think will makes your readers happy, you will stuck someday. You will have nothing to write anymore. This is the first question isn’t it?

Don’t get confuse anymore. Write it or Others will!

You’re right… I try to keep my blog balanced between the categories but I don’t hesitate to be a bit off-topic once in a while. Good advice !
