Talk about mistyped, how many times you realize that you often use that backspace button on your keyboard while typing a post or an article on your blog?

Here is something interesting about Mistyped. On my old blog, lifewg.blogspot.com, I have a category (or label in blogger / blogspot) named “Succes Story”.

Do you realize that the name is misspelled? It should be “Success Story” with a double S. at first i didn’t notice about it. but later, days by days, as usual like we all do, I check on the sitemeter’s log. and I got pretty confused. how could i got so many traffic from google with that keyword “Success Story”?

At that time, the blog is just about a month. and i got many traffic from the keyword. of course that is weird don’t you think? I believe Success Story is a potential keyword and a really good topic to talk and discuss about. So I also believe there are already many and many sites with a huge pagerank placed better on the Google Search Engine Result Page.

Then I went there to check it. I type “Succes Story” without quote mark of course, and Hit Enter on the Google Search Box.

And amazing! I was on the first place for “Succes Story” Keyword. until I found this…

Oh I got to fix this hurry!! but wait…

what for?

Why I should fix it? Do I have to fix it? It has brought me many traffics. If I change that to the correct spelling, then my site would just be disappeared from google first page result.

Then I will got nothing. So should I fix it? No! just let it be it. Nothing’s wrong with mistyped. in fact, it is good for our position on google search engine result.

Everyday, there are tons of misspelled / mistyped keywords enter on google. Look at the example below. Google has been providing this data, so thanks to them.

Here is the search result of Britney Spears and all the variant of the misspelling words and the counts.

If you can’t see the original page, you can also find here on Archive.org sites.

There you can look that the first name, that is the correct one, got 488.941 searches on the period. and the misspelled? there are 146.264 hits!

Wow! That is 30% and that is definitely a number for Britney Spears is a super famous name, still can’t believe there are so many people got mistyped her name rite?

So guys, leave the mistyped alone! get away from it. don’t even try to change / fix it. It will bring you traffics. and that means money rite
