This article was sent by Manick the owner of AccessMyBlog.blogspot.com, you probably have already recognized him since he has left some comments here before, answering some people problems with their blogger hacks. Now he came with a really good article, I am so proud to introduce him to you. Now, here it is.

Should you compete with other blogs or cooperate?
Many of you would have this question in your mind, especially those new bloggers or bloggers at an intermediate level. Which approach would benefit you? This post aims to discuss this topic in detail.

Blog Competition
When I started off blogging, I considered everyone around me as competition to my blog. I was so careful in writing my posts that I would not give away any link to other blogs. My blog stood as an island in the blogosphere. I thought readers would come to my blog just for what I write. But, I had only one reader who would visit my blog daily (it’s me, who else). You get the picture.

Blog Cooperation
Irrespective of whether you are a new blogger or a professional blogger, you cannot survive alone. The entire structure of blogging is built on a cooperative network. So, find ways to communicate and network with other bloggers. I have taken the cooperative approach and my traffic and rankings have gone up considerably since then. If you need any proof, read my post here on Significant Increase in my Blog Traffic.

Here are some tips to increase your blog traffics:

Encourage comments on your blog
Blogging is not only about writing. It is about engaging your readers and inducing them to respond. Be open to negative comments; accept them with a smile. Whenever possible, respond to each and every comment. Respond to their queries promptly. Build a solid relationship with your reader.

Leave comments on other blogs
Spend some time to read blogs from your niche. Leave a little note to let know that you have visited. Take care not to openly promote your blog. If you have any useful link that would add value to the discussion, then include it.

Participate in forums
Join any forum that you like, preferably a forum that connects bloggers from your own niche. Do not add to the count of discussions. Your participation should contribute to the discussions in a positive manner. Avoid getting personal.

There are many more ways of getting yourself into the network of bloggers. Please share your way of doing it.
