Should we use HaloScan? (I am so disappointed to HaloScan)
As you can see, i use Haloscan comment system service for this blog, but i am really-really disappointed for this.
why ?
1. HaloScan can not import my old comments. where it should be just so easy to do because the can use the blogger comment feed to do that, but Haloscan don’t do! so all comments from my readers were just disappeared. sorry readers ![]()
2. HaloScan can’t give us the referrer URL of the comments. that make us can’t find out where the comment is coming from. As the blog master, we should know what post is being commented by our reader right? and we just can’t know that with haloscan. except if you want to open all of your past posts pages one-by-one.
But why did you install Haloscan Jack?
Well.. i thought, it would be nice if i can have a comment form under my post page, but it seems my old hacks is just better then haloscan service.
So.. why don’t you just swap it back to your old hacks?
well.. this again is because there are already lots of comments by this blog readers on each post. so i can’t just let them disappeared anymore.
Now, should we use Haloscan or not?

I, too, was really disappointed in Haloscan. They have alot of problems and kinks to work out, so I removed it from my page.
Me too. I used Haloscan to make the comment form appear at the bottom of the post. (That was before the hack for new blogger–like this you’re using was created!) Now, I can’t get out of it.

I thought of using HaloScan because it will give me a trackback capability. But I found out many bloggers are not happy using HaloScan including you, Jack Book.

hi jack,i too had problems with haloscan. It’s really bad. As you said all our old comments will be lost. Also, there will be a link to haloscan site from the comment form & it is bit irritating. I like to know what you have done to make this comment form look like an wordpress one ? Are you using the same blogger hack that you wrote some time back for this comment form ?..
